It is 2023 and we are excited to bring good news – Gillingham Apartments with Ultrafast Wifi!
We now have Virgin Media in all our Arden Street Apartments!
Over the course of the past 18 months we have been working in the background, striving to get the best broadband we can. As 2022 ended, we took the opportunity to fit speedy and reliable Virgin Broadband and TV in our apartments. The new services were installed into all the apartments on on New Years’ Eve.
In the past we have had a variety of service providers who provided internet access to our guests. Nothing really hit the mark. As well as our wonderful building and the upmost consideration of cleanliness and comfort, we wanted excellent Wifi to match.
In every apartment* we now have Virgin 250mb Broadband provided by Hub 4s. With an average download speed of 264Mbps, which is about four times faster than the UK’s average broadband connection. This allows you to stream 4K (ultra-HD) video on up to 10 devices at the same time. You’ll also get an average upload speed of 25Mbps on M250 fibre broadband.
Using M250 fibre broadband, you’ll be able to stream ultra-HD video on up to 10 devices at the same time in your home (or 50 devices if you’re only streaming in HD quality). Alternatively, a HD-quality film will take about 2 minutes to download.
M125 Fibre vs M250 Fibre Broadband
For most UK households, M125 fibre broadband already provides speeds that are fast enough for everyday use. For instance, you’ll be able to stream ultra-HD video on up to five devices at the same time on M125 (or 25 devices when you stream in HD quality). On M250 broadband, this increases up to 10 devices streaming in ultra-HD quality and up to 50 devices when streaming in HD.
Similarly, it will take around 4 minutes to download a film on M125 broadband, reducing to 2 minutes if you have M250 broadband. For the latest console game, it’ll take around 45 minutes to download on M125 fibre, versus 22 minutes on M250 fibre. M250 is also great for uploading large files as well as live streaming and video chat apps like Google Meet, Zoom and Skype.

Virgin TV
It doesn’t stop there. Along with the standard HD channels with Virgin, we have the Drama & Docs package in every apartment. The Drama and Documentaries package includes 47 premium entertainment channels including Sky Max, Sky Showcase, Discovery, National Geographic, and Comedy Central among others, which cover the main bases for drama, comedy and documentaries to keep you entertained in the evening.

Work or Entertainment?
The Virgin Hubs also have ethernet connection ports. In each of our Gillingham Apartments with Ultrafast Wifi the Hubs are situated within the TV unit niche. This is located next to the Dining Tables.
If you have a bit of work to do and want that extra extra fast speed, feel free to bring your ethernet cable and connect directly to the port!
One of the ports also connects directly to the 65″ TV. So when you navigate to your favourite streaming services you experience seamless entertainment!
*Please note, the Virgin Package comes with every Arden Street Apartment. Gardiner Street comes with Sky’s very own Now TV Broadband. Speeds and service are responsibility of Virgin Media.
